What We Are About

Maryland Capital Enterprises Women’s Business Center (WBC) is designed to empower women to start and expand small businesses on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and across the state. The WBC elevates women entrepreneurs to succeed by offering training, business counseling, one-on-one mentoring, and marketing consulting. In addition, Maryland Capital Enterprises, Inc. (MCE) offers small business loans to WBC clients!

The WBC offers two locations: one at MCE 314 Civic Ave. Salisbury, MD 21804, and an office in Baltimore at 4709 Harford Rd. Baltimore, MD 21214.

Aspire to Succeed & Lead: 10th Annual MCE Women’s Business Conference

March 14, 2025   

This conference is for any business woman, aspiring women entrepreneurs, or current women business owners looking to expand their knowledge in various areas of the business world. The MCE WBC is designed to empower women-owned businesses to grow, create jobs, and generate wealth on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and across the state by nurturing and encouraging entrepreneurship.

We are looking forward to an in person conference – will have also be offering spots in the online marketplace for vendors to purchase space in and link to your website to highlight holiday specials, new products, services etc. as well as in person vendor space.

MCE Women’s Business Center empowers businesses to grow, create jobs, and generate wealth on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and across the state. As part of our mission, MCE WBC provides business training classes to individuals who wish to start or expand their business. MCE WBC offers classes for starting a business, marketing a business, financial education, providing networking opportunities, and more. Entrepreneur of the Year

Nicole Odom-Hardnett, Ph.D. is the 2023 MCE Palmer Gillis Entrepreneur of the Year Award winner. Nicole’s meteoric success began with her career path, which includes successfully managing various welfare-to-work programs and operating a profitable transitional housing business.

Currently, Dr. Odom-Hardnett owns and operates a Multi-Million-Dollar successful business called Focus Point Solutions, the parent company of Focus Point Behavioral Health (F.P.B.H) and F.P. Franchise.
